NBA Digital Launches “Game Time”

nba_gametimeThe first major sports league to launch an official app comes from the NBA in the form of their Game Time application. Available immediately in the Android Market, the app promises scores, statistics, standings and schedules.

This application allows fans to get the most accurate, up-to-date information on their favorite team wherever they are and will form the base for continued mobile enhancements from NBA Digital. – We are proud to be the first league to launch a sports application on the T-Mobile G-1 and this exemplifies our commitment to distribute content across all emerging technologies, be they television, internet or wireless. – Bryan Perez, Senior VP and GM of NBA Digital.

Missing from the app are video highlights and streaming of games, but the door is not closed entirely. With an update promised in time for the post season, executives are planning for more digital content beyond the playoff bracket.
