Use Your G1 As… A Metal Detector? (VIDEO)

metal_app_g1Here’s a case of an app that we won’t believe really works until we try it for ourselves.  The guys over at the Italian Android site HDblog.it have put together a little video of an app for the G1 which turns it into a metal detector.

Don’t even ask us how it works because we have no clue.  Is it a ruse?  Is it an app that randomly “works” assuming you have some metal up next to your phone?

Either way, it’s nifty and could be fun for some folks, just as the lighter apps are for others.  Anybody else try it out?
