Acer: Wait a Sec… We Might Have a Phone in ’09

a1_acer_phoneThere was a widely circulated rumor earlier this week that Acer was not going to be able to get their US handsets out until next year, bumming out quite a few people.  That may not be the case after all. PC Mag was contacted by Acer’s PR folks and said that they “misspoke.”

“There is still potential for a U.S. Acer smartphone launch in Q4 2009. Plans are still being determined and we’ll keep you posted as commitments firm up.”

Sounds like Acer might be trying to get in on that Android goodness by holidays too!
