Android Around the World: O2 to Sell Samgung Galaxy in UK

o2_logoSpeaking to TechRadar recently, O2 confirmed that they will be offering the Samsung Galaxy handset soon. Currently showing up as “coming soon” in the July issue of their catalogue, the phone is expected to land in August.

As of right now, the pricing is unknown with only “more to follow” to tease us. TechRadar is saying that the Galaxy will only be available with a contract, but SIM-free sites like King of Gadgets are starting to list it at £500 (roughly $800 US).

It’s also not known whether or not O2 will be the exclusive carrier of phone. Currently, they offer the iPhone 3GS with a multi-year exclusive deal and the Palm Pre is coming with similar terms.  The i7500 Galaxy would fit well in the high end lineup of smart phones.
