HTC Magic Joins 1 Million Sold Club

one_million_magicJust a bit of short and sweet news to pass along to you guys today.  The HTC Magic has sold over 1 million units worldwide.  It's not known what the breakdown is from country to country, but we're happy for the figure nonetheless.  The handset has only been out since April and just recently became available in the US as the myTouch 3G.

As the number of people buying smartphones continues to grow, the 1 million sold stats are going to come quicker.  While overall phone sales dropped 6% , the number of smartphones incresaed 27% in that same time.

Most of today's popular flagship phones are in the $200 range but that bar will be lowered.  With Samsung mentioning Android phones under $100 next year and HTC's Click on the way, we could see handsets not only hit the 1M mark much faster, but move well beyond.
