It took all of a week for the crafty boys of xda-developers to gain root access to the T-Mobile myTouch 3G.  The handset joins the G1 and Samsung Galaxy as being able to offer such access to the masses, making Android phones 3 for 3 so far!  The process is a touch more involved than previous rooting, so be prepared for a challenge.

Amon_RA from the XDA-Developers forum was the first we’ve seen to post these instructions, with thanks to Jrbourque and Haykuro. Users will need two SD cards this time around – one for creating a  “Goldcard.”
