Unknown Android MID Sadly Only a Concept

android_mid_conceptThere’s been a rash of recent Android MID sightings lately and nobody seems to know who it belongs to or what it is.  Today we’re learning that it’s most likely just a concept device designed to show off the new “Rockchip” processor from a Chinese chip maker.

As Androinica points out, there’s no visible branding on the device, so don’t expect to see one in your local retailer any time soon.  Unfortunately, we don’t even have any specs to lust after.

The videos below show a few basic Android processes and web browsing.

Given Google's announcement of Chrome OS, I'd imagine that nearly all work on Android on netbooks/MIDs has stopped. There may be someone working on it in their spare time but I doubt there are any companies still working on it for release. I know Asus just said that they were not pursuing Android for their netbooks any longer.
