		<description>I agree, let&#039;s keep it friendly people.  I guess my intent when i wrote the piece was shed some light on Android for someone who has little computer experience.  You Guys know how it is.... those types of users who have used a computer but have no clue as to how it operates.   
 
I appreciate all the feedback, and maybe androidguys should do a more involved explanation that is a little more tech oriented.   But I think the crowd I was aiming at will at least understand what Android is supposed to be doing via the explanation.

Simply &#039;&#039;Windows for your phone&#039;&#039; would suffice... then explain that Apps are like programs that you buy and install.   
 
Additionally - rather than being owned, developed and supplied by Microsoft as Windows is, Android was developed by Google, but they release what they have developed so that any (who knows how) can add to it/change it/modify it.
