Sprint Offers Up Android Anecdotes

Posted by: Scott Webster

ssprint_buildingYesterday, David Owens, Sprint's VP of consumer marketing, took part in an hour-long online chat with customers where he dropped a few Android bits that are worth sharing.

  • The HTC Hero and Samsung Moment are going to get OS updates  It's not known specifically which handsets will see 1.6 or if they'll jump straight to 2.0.
  • On the subject of a combo CDMA/GSM phone it's “a possibility but nothing this year.”
  • Android phones with a MiFi-esque capability are being considered.
  • The price of Android handsets will continue to drop “as we see volume across the industry.”

If you'd like to read it, the full transcript of the chat can be found here.
