With the first round of the ADC 2 completed, it’s time to see who has made the cut.  After getting underway back in May, the list has been trimmed to 20 semi-finalists from 10 categories.  Over the next weeks (months), Android users will be able to help decide who takes home the top 3 spots in their respective group.  The winners will walk away with $100,000, $50,000, or $25,000 depending on where they place.  On top of that, there are three more cash prizes for the 3 best apps overall.  Download the Android Developers Challenge application from the Android Market today and get started!

For this final round, Android users (you!) and a panel of judges from the industry will both help narrow the results down.  Voting will be open until enough votes are received for each application to fit into whatever algorithm they’re using.  The previous ADC saw judges from all 34 founding members of the Open Handset Alliance so we’re assuming a similar system will be in place this time.
