I use a broadcastreceiver which simply sets an alarm for 2 minutes after the boot intent is fired to start my service. I have noticed, however, that on Cyanogenmod and some other non-stock android roms, AlarmManager accepts the alarm, but it never fires.

The workaround is to use a handler to with a sendMessageDelayed in the broadcastreceiver (hacky, but efficient) to delay setting the alarm for 1 minute after the broadcastreceiver is fired by the boot completed event.

I suspect it has something to do with extra system services starting before AlarmManager on those roms.
