The Droid Has Been Rooted

droid_rootedWe can add the Droid to the list of Android handsets that have been rooted.   A member of the AllDroid forums is reporting tonight that they’ve been able to successfully get root access on the hottest handset around.  We’ll find out before too long what this means long term, but WiFi tethering is bound to be first on many users’ lists.

Are you a Droid user looking to root your handset?  Head over to AllDroid and follow the steps! Obligatory Warning: Playing with your phone in this manner can result in goofy stuff that’s not covered by any warranty.  Proceed at own risk.
