Evernote Arrives for Android

evernoteThe ever popular note-taking/idea capturing/inspiration grabbing service, Evernote, has announced that their Android app is available!  If you’re looking for a way to store and access your photos, notes, and more, you should check it out. The app promises the ability to capture text, ink notes, snapshots of whiteboards and wine labels, clips of webpages, and much more!

Some Evernote highlights:

  • Ability to create text notes, snap photos and record audio along with easily attaching files to notes
  • Equipped with native note browsing (you can easily browse and search through all notes), complete with synchronization features so all notes are accessible in desktop or web versions from the Android
  • Tons of new functionality in the Android menu: browse notes, set location awareness view Saved Searches
  • Location capturing whenever you create a note

If you want to download Evernote for yourself, point your Android handset to http://s.evernote.com/getandroid.  Be sure to enable your phone to allow for apps outside of the Android Market.

Wouldn't install with the beta installed. If you run into the same thing, uninstalling the beta allowed me to install the release version.

The beta app has been available for several months through the Evernote Forums – and it has been quite stable. Btw., as of today the Evernote application is also available in Android Market. Great app!

Oooh! Quite exciting to have Evernote on board. I occasionally use the desktop version of the program and find it very easy to use (although a little slow on my 5 year old laptop) – looking forward to trying out the app.
