Google’s Nexus One Trademark Denied

Google's application for the Nexus One trademark has been officially rejected by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The application was denied because the patent application was too similar to a "Nexus" integrated voice and Internet product owned by the company Integra Telecom, which registered its trademark in December 2008.

What does this mean for Google?  Well, first off, this doesn't mean they have to change the name immediately, but I have no doubt Google will challenge this ruling.  If they lose an appeal, the big G could license the brand name from Integra or they could change the name all together(all though this seems very unlikely).  Whatever happens, Android Guys will be here to deliver any news that we hear.

How can they patent "Nexus", It's a word. Its Latin for connection, center.

I can see how "Nexus One" would be allowed though
