Minor Update to Motorola CLIQ XT Available NOW! Limited to First 1,000 Downloads

T-Mobile has just made a minor software update available to their Motorola Cliq XT handset.  Limited to the first 1,000 people to download it, the update improves data connectivity, decreases random reboots and force closes, and more.  The update just hit about 20 minutes ago and we can confirm its availability. Unlike most OTA updates, this download is done in two parts.

Here’s how to get the update on your phone:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Scroll to, open “About Phone”
  3. Tap “System Updates”
  4. Download Update
  5. Install Now
  6. Repeat Steps 1-5

who cares!? update the g1 to 2.1

The G1 is limited by not enough memory for the updates that are comming. U know that the phone has limitation cuz of the internal memory. Yes at the time it was the best memory on the market but now with all technology get more memory and faster the G1 wouldn't handle the upgrade. So in other words need to buy another. That's just my opinion on the subject.

I just installed the update on my CLIQ XT. It's a 2 part update, the second update takes a while to download. Just make sure you have a full battery when installing. I will post later to see if there are any noticeable differences.http://www.cydeck.com | the tech marketplace

Thanks to posts like this I was able to get the update. Haven't had a force close since and things seem more responsive.

The news is why is the update limited to 1,000 people… That seems… Nuts!
