Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Has Been Officially Rooted

The wait is over, folks!   The Sony Ericsson X10 was officially rooted by XDA users: biktor_gj, jerpelea, and bin4ry (who seemingly broke the news via Twitter). Thanks to their hard work, owners can now obtain root access to their devices. Root access gives the owner superuser control, allowing them to flash custom ROMs and tinker with advanced settings but also potentially brick their device if they are careless.

Still in disbelief even after the screenshot? Check out this YouTube clip displaying root (just showing root, not the procedure…or the guy’s PIN), or head over Sony Ericsson X10 Android Development forum at XDA to read about it as well as ROM development.

Thanks to Alex for the tip!
