I decided to do some testing of my own to see what I would find.  Using a Motorola Milestone, I got these results.

  • AVI – Very Smooth with a frame rate of 18-24fps.
  • MKV – Lags a lot, Audio track goes out of sync.
  • RMVB – Considerably smooth.
  • MKV files are not smooth at all. It depends on the device also, so try it on a phone with a high-end CPU.

I hope the developers are getting feedback and working on the spots where it could be improved. Apart from a few minor issues, we have a very good video player to look out for!  Get your .apk here. This beta version expires on  July 15th. Try it on your phone and tell us what you think!

  1. Unfortunately it didn't work for me, I was running Avatar and the FPS were about 11-14 and the sound cut out after about 5 seconds. (Droid 2.1)

  2. Very simple to download. Go here:
from your phone's browser and download the file. Make sure you put in the security code and wait the 40 seconds or so for the screen to go to either the "premium download" or "free download." Choose the "free download" and the file will download onto your phone. Click on it when its down downloading and install it on your phone.
