IMDB Releases Official Android App

Movie buffs and trivia fans around the world are advised to check out the new IMDB application for Android.  Written for phones running Android 1.6 (Donut) or higher, the native app provides access to  over 1.5 million movie and TV titles as well as more than 3.2 million celebrities, actors, actresses, directors and other crew members.  Ridiculous, right?  It gets better.

The official title of the app is IMDb Movies & TV and it’s currently available in seven languages:  English (US/UK), Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Italian and Japanese.  Aside from being able to simply look up movies, users can also view various charts (most popular, top rated, etc), shop through various Amazon outlets, and share movie showtimes with friends.  Movie trailers, quotes, and reviews are also a key ingredient in the app as well.  For those living in the United States there are a few added features including  TV listings, recaps of TV shows from previous night, and upcoming movies

No love for us CLIQ owners. Really, what is absolutely essential in 1.6 that folks can't develop a new maps app or IMDB for 1.5??

Downloaded it to my N1 as soon as I saw this. I'm a huge movie buff and absolutely hated having to use the imdb website to get info while other IMDB apps were mostly crap.

This one tho, is absolutely awesome. And it's about time! Love it.

Does the quick search box integration work for anybody? On my Moto Milestone it doesn't seem to work at all: IMDb is selectable on the seaerch options but typing on the quick search box doesn't get any IMDb results (while other integrated searches like Weatherbug, Spotify and Music work fine).. Great little app never the less!
