New AdMob Report Shows Android Now Holds 33% Market Share in North America

AdMob has just released their May 2010 Mobile Metrics Report, and the results are extremely impressive for the Android OS.  The stats (which are from May 2010, not June) put Android at a 33% share in North America, with iOS holding on to their 54% share. This is good news for Android fanboys (and fangirls), however, it will be interesting to see how the iPhone 4 launch in June affects these statistics.  On our side of the battle we have the Droid Incredible, Droid X, EVO 4G, and a host of Samsung Galaxy S phones to look forward too, as well.  It should also be noted that Android has also overtaken Symbian as the #2 mobile OS according to the AdMob stats.  To see the full report, click here!
I've been an Android fanboy since day one, but I've never had a chance to truly express my voice and be a part of the Android Community. When AndroidGuys starting accepting applications for interns, I saw my opportunity. I joined the AndroidGuys team and haven't looked back!

  • There is no such thing as too little too late in business. Good example is iPhone. But it is a good time for Nokia to fire half of the staff, get some new brains, and sprint into action. That is exactly what Microsoft is doing. I love technology wars )

  • what i think There is no such thing as too little too late in business. Good example is iPhone. But it is a good time for Nokia to fire half of the staff, get some new brains, and sprint into action. That is exactly what Microsoft is doing. I love technology wars it will give us better results

  • I totally agree with the first comment that more than 33% market share is deserve by android….But still Android fans are wait for iPhone 4 to be launch.

  • While this may not seem like a large number in comparison to the millions of Droid phones that have been sold, it is important to keep in mind that this is just one build.

  • It should also be noted that Android has also overtaken Symbian,I think it is good for Android.

  • AdMob, which bills itself as the world’s largest mobile advertising marketplace, delivers ads displayed on smartphone screens, so its statistics tends to favor phones heavily used for Web surfing…

  • Well Android at a 33% share in North America, with iOS holding on to their 54% share..??
