Droid to Join the Froyo Family on July 13th?

DroidLife is claiming they have viable information from their “most reliable source” that the original Verizon Droid will be getting some (official) Froyo love on July 13th. This would go hand-in-hand with the rumor we covered earlier about Google sending out a few Froyo OTA updates to select Droid users, presumably to test the update.  Keep in mind that nothing is confirmed as of yet, but we’ll keep you posted. Thanks again to DroidLife for the tip. How excited are you to get Froyo on your Droid? Sound off in the comments below.

I'm waiting to see whether the built-in tethering and WiFi hotspot features will be left intact without an additional charge to use them. This is going to be pivotal in my decision to use official FroYo or the new Cyanogen mod.

Sounds great, I hope it actually happens. The only decision I question is the name "Froyo" over "Frogurt." I mean, come on. Are the guys at Google not Simpsons fans or what?
