Sprint Rumored to Launch Epic 4G August 11

Sprint is reportedly launching its variant of the Samsung Galaxy S in less than a week on Wednesday, August 11. The Epic 4G differentiates itself from other Galaxy S models with its slide out keyboard and front facing camera, as well as by being Sprint’s second 4G capable device. Sprint has also stated that some stores may be opening at 8:00 a.m. in order to accommodate demand. It seems as though Sprint may be trying to pull some demand from the Motorola Droid 2 and Blackberry Torch 9800, which are also reportedly launching next week.

Keep in mind, this is not an official launch date announcement, just a rumor, but it does seem plausible: with the Epic 4G promo site up, its launch can’t be far off.

The Samsung Epic 4G is one of the more compelling incarnations of the Samsung Galaxy S. With a slide out QWERTY keypad and WiMAX, the device promises to be a hot seller for Sprint. This is really an excellent phone and i would love to have this.
