4.1-Inch Dell Thunder Caught on Film, On Track for 2010 Release [UPDATE]

It has been roughly four months since we last heard, or talked about, the Dell Thunder. In fact, everything we’ve ever covered on this phone was in one post. As a primer, the Thunder was said to run Android 2.1 with a custom UI called Stage, a 4.1-inch WVGA OLED touch screen with curved glass, an 8-megapixel camera, and Flash 10.1 with an integrated Hulu app. Of course, we have since learned that Flash support comes with Android 2.2 ‘Froyo’.

Engadget has scored a video and some images of the device in the wild. As heard in the clip, we learn that the Thunder also packs an 8-megapixel camera under the hood. What else do know? Engadget’s source claims 720p video capture, a removable 1400mAh battery, and a screen resolution of at least 800×480 pixels. Look for the Thunder at some point in the fourth quarter. And with that, we should also be on the lookout for the Smoke and Flash!

UPDATE:  AndroidSPIN has just published a handful of new images of the Thunder, showing other angles, including the open back side.

That looks really awesome, hopefully dell doesn’t let us down on the hardware.
But why did dell choose for only 3 buttons? I like the search button…
