Droid 2 Gets First OTA Update

The Droid 2 was only released about 2 weeks ago and it’s already getting its first OTA update. No, it’s not anything major. It’s just a maintenance upgrade to help enhance the user experience. The update includes:

  • Enabled text and picture message scrolling.
  • Streamlined set up of Visual Voice Mail feature.
  • Improved contact sync with Corporate Exchange categories and groups.
  • The ability to view accurate contact pictures when reviewing Recent Call Log.

This update is said to be currently rolling out in stages, so don’t be surprised if it pops up on your Droid 2 in the coming days. We haven’t heard of any problems with this update, but if you have one, let us know!

Don’t want to wait on Verizon?

Go to Settings > About Phone > System Updates

Phone will search out update. When prompted hit Install Now

Droid will power cycle, then take 2-3 minutes to install.
