HTC Desire Lands Stateside Today at US Cellular
The HTC Desire might be old news to some of our international readers, but us Yankees have been wanting to get our hands on one since it was announced. Today, US Cellular is doing their part to help make that possible. The phone, which closely resembles a Sense-like Nexus One, features a 1GHz Snapdragon processor,a 3.7-inch Super LCD touch display, and 5-megapixel camera. The Desire runs $199.95 after $70 mail-in rebate with a two-year contract and comes with Android 2.1 under the hood. This marks the second of five promised Android phones from the carrier. Look for a pair of LG handsets later this year, preceded by a Samsung Galaxy S series phone in October.
