Sony Ericsson Announces A8i for China Mobile
Sony Ericsson has announced their new TD-SCDMA Android phone, the A8i, for China Mobile today. Co-developed with the wireless provider, the smart phone comes with a 3.5-inch touch display, a 5-megapixel camera, and support for WiFi, Bluetooth A2DP, GPS, and the CMMB mobile TV standard. Common among phones released in China, the A8i runs the custom flavor of Android known as OPhone. Pricing and availability were not immediately known, but we’re hearing an October release for this one. Keep any eye out for the A8i in “Titanium Black” and “Shiny White”.
Sony Ericsson Collaborates with China Mobile to Further Strengthen its ‘Communication Entertainment’ Strategy in the Region
Beijing, China – August 31 2010 – Sony Ericsson today announces that it is strengthening its portfolio in China by launching the first smartphone to support China Mobile’s TD-SCDMA network – the Sony Ericsson A8i.
The Sony Ericsson A8i delivers high performance in a stylish form factor. The phone features a 3.5-inch (9 cm) touch screen and incorporates the human curvature design concept that is now consistent across the Sony Ericsson portfolio. The phone benefits comprehensive range of signature applications including TrackID which is linked directly with China Mobile’s entertainment download service – giving customers in China access to a wide range of local music.
