Our pals over at Electricpig have been able to confirm the existence of the upcoming Acer Liquid Metal handset. Running Android 2.2 "Froyo" and powered by an 800MHz processor, Acer UK says to look for this guy next month (October). Other details at this point are light but include 512MB RAM and a 3.6-inch WVGA touch screen. Look for more specs to slip out over the coming weeks!
