Avaya Announces Android-Powered ‘Desktop Video Device’
Earlier this morning Avaya unveiled a new lineup of business class products and service that include the Android-based Avaya Desktop Video Device. With a sizable 11.6” HD touch screen, HD camera, and dual-mic support, the device provides real-time enterprise communication and collaboration. The Desktop Video Device comes with Avaya's new user interface called Flare Experience (PDF) which features touch-and-swipe, drag-and-drop , a virtual Rolodex, and other business-centric tools in a clean, intuitive manner. Avaya's UI will eventually roll out to other hardware environments, including PCs, laptops, tablet PCs, and smartphones. Pricing and availability were not disclosed.
