Yahoo! Drops Four New Apps into Android Market

We noticed a few other Android blogs mentioning the fact that Yahoo! Finance landed in the Android Market yesterday.  Given the fact that the free app makes it easy to view daily market summaries and news and track stock tickers, it’s good news to be sure.  After looking to download the app for a quick test, I couldn’t help but notice there were a few other new Yahoo! titles in there.  Since I don’t profess to know every single app that comes across, I used the download count to guess which were brand new.  Yahoo! already had a handful of apps in the market with many of them getting over 250,000 downloads each so I went with those listed at 100-500 or lower.  It’s pretty safe to say these just arrived. Here are the newest Yahoo! selections to hit the Android Market with their respective descriptions:

  • Yahoo! Movies – Find show times, local theaters, and driving directions—even purchase tickets from your phone. Get critics’ and user reviews, view trailers, read up on the plot, then grab a seat and enjoy the show.  Click here to download Yahoo! Movies.
  • omg! – Be the first to know about celebrity news, photos, and actions from the entertainment and music industries. Track the gossip, view video interviews, see red carpet looks, slide shows and more.  Click here to download omg!
  • Yahoo!  Weather – Know the weather, track storms, see the latest conditions, plus the ten-day forecast. Check out the weather in cities around the world or in your location, including wind, visibility, or humidity. Click here to download Yahoo! Weather.
  • Yahoo! – Quickly find what you’re searching for, get in touch with friends and stay in-the-know with the latest news and information.  Click here to download Yahoo!
