Acer Liquid Metal Clears FCC Sporting Froyo

We have talked about the Acer Liquid Metal in the past here at Android Guys, and now there is more info that has dropped today over at Engadget. They are reporting that the Liquid Metal has cleared the FCC, the proof being a FCC listing giving the different specs and features of the handset.

The listing shows that the Liquid will launch with Android 2.2 (Froyo), which is a smart move on Acer’s part.  It is refreshing to see people getting the latest and greatest out of the gate without having to wait for an update like Samsung users.  (Where is my Froyo Samsung?)

The article goes on to talk about the fact that the Liquid is poised for an AT&T Launch.  A quote from the Endgadget article:

Now the aluminum handset said to be housing an 800MHz Qualcomm MSM7230-1 processor just cleared the FCC sporting GSM/EDGE 850/1900 and WCDMA Band II and V making it the perfect candidate for an AT&T launch. The listing also confirms Android 2.2 Froyo, GPS, Bluetooth, and 802.11b/g/n WiFi on the tested model S120 DVT2 (that’s Design Verification Test 2) prototype.

There is no word on an US launch date, but with the unit launching in October for the UK, we should see something here in America soon. More info as it comes in.
