Today Sprint announced (re-announced) the upcoming LG Optimus S. The Optimus S was originally announced about a month ago at CTIA, and was suppose to be on the shelves on October 31st. However, for one reason or the other was delayed and was re-announced today from Sprint for a release date of Sunday November 7th.
The LG Optimus S will instantly become Sprint’s cheapest Android phone when released on the 7th, at only $49.99 after $100 mail in rebate and with a new 2-year contract. It will also be Sprint‘s 2nd phone running Android 2.2. Considering Sprint is still selling phones like the HTC Hero for $149.99 (Android 2.1) this seems like a pretty good buy.
