Possible Permanent Root for G2 (Update)

It appears that permanent rooting of the G2 might be close at hand. A thread on XDA developers and AndroidSpin are aflutter today as a real, working root situation has been found. Well, it happened at least once for a guy. According to the IRC chat logs, some pretty big players are involved in trying to replicate the permanent fix so that it can be shared with the modding masses.
