NEC Casio Mobile:We’re Going Android, Too



The official tally for Open Handset Alliance members stands at 78 but the unofficial bandwagon is considerably higher. Add another one to the list today as NEC Casio Mobile (NEC, Casio and Hitachi) says they plan to offer Android phones in the coming year. Like Panasonic did earlier this week, these guys are forecasting big things both in Japan and around the world. NEC Casio Mobile CEO Yamasaki says they hope to sell 6 million smart phones worldwide by 2012, with roughly 40-percent coming from outside of Japan.
