Holiday Shopping PSA: the Complete Android Guide for 99 Cents

Giving someone their first Android phone as a gift this holiday season? Excellent choice, but guess who that newb is going to be coming to for help while they get up to speed? That’s right, it’s you, unless you accompany that phone with the Complete Android Guide, a great resource to help folks through the arcana we all take for granted. And today, you can get it for 99 cents. That’s eight bucks off the regular price.

AGTN listeners may remember the Guide’s author, Kevin Purdy, from his guest appearances on the Thursday droidcast. He knows his stuff and his book is a great reference that helps new users set up their email, learn the deeper aspects of their home screen, conserve battery life and loads more. If you want to take advantage of the deal, here’s what to do:

  • Follow the Complete Android Guide on Twitter at @completeandroid
  • Once they follow you back (which should be pretty quickly),  send a DM asking for the promo code.
  • Use the code when you place an order for the  e-book version of the Complete Android Guide (DRM-free PDF or Kindle-friendly ePub). The price will drop to 99 cents as long as you get your order in before midnight today (Pacific time).

Though this deal just applies to the e-book, the Guide is also available in old-fashioned paper format, too, if you’d rather have something to wrap up and put under the tree.

Seems to be taking a while for them to follow me back. Anyone else have this problem?

So, I have to sign up for a service that I consider little more than a joke to get on this? Twitter is a place for teen-age girls to tell their friends to meet them at the mall.
