Did You Throw a Brick or a Samsung Handset at Me? [VIDEO]

Take a look at this mama jamma.  Android Spin is reporting that Samsung has released the first Android flip phone to sport two functional touch screens.  As you can see by the video below, this phone is huge!

Called the Samsung W899, the device has the following features:

  • Android 2.2
  • 5 megapixel rear camera with a VGA front facing camera
  • 1 GHz processor
  • 512MB internal memory
  • Dual band support, both GSM and CDMA (reported)
  • A profile that would scare NFL linebackers

No word on pricing right now as the unit is being released in China, via China Telecom.  Not sure how popular this handset is going to be but it is an intriguing design.  Let us know what you think in the comments.  Have you been dying for the Android flip phone?

    flip phones are not very popular in China (in contrast to Samsung’s native S. Korea), and it’s being released on the smallest mobile telco, so I suspect this is the last i’ll ever see of it, unless the golden lustre of the shell proves a hit with the bling-loving nouveau riche.

    In opinion is ugly it fail as far as looks. Not feeling this phone but not sure on specs.

    Such an ugly thing, and the second screen is on the OUTSIDE?? hahahahahaha
    I would have given it a 1% chance of ROI if the two screens were side-by-side (together with flip design, with some sophisticated hinge) as that would increase x2 the potential resolution. But like they made it — it ain’t ROIing.
