Beta ROM Has HTC EVO 4G Running Android 2.3 ‘Gingerbread’

Hackers have been busy today, working to get Android 2.3 ported over to existing devices.  The first phone to get the Gingerbread treatment looks to be the HTC EVO 4G.  According to BriefMobile, a  pair of  XDA users were able to get a workable, albeit buggy, 2.3 install on the EVO 4G.  As one would imagine, this is not something you’ll want to rush out to grab for yourself, but it’s nice knowing how fast the community works.  It won’t be long until we’re reporting a much more stable Gingerbread ROM for today’s top Android phones.

Thanks to Kenny and Whosdaman for the tips which fell within minutes of each other!
