Andy Rubin: “Over 300,000 Android Activations Per Day”
Andy Rubin, Vice President of Engineering at Google, sent out a tweet at about 11:37 PM ET saying,”There are over 300,000 Android phones activated each day.” This is such a newsworthy statement because Apple, during their September 1st event, claimed that the iPhone was having 230,000 activations per day.
Does this mean that more Android phones are currently being purchased more than iPhones? Possibly so. Generally, iPhone activations are always brought up at Apple events and keynotes. It’s going to be interesting to see how Apple will react to or counter Rubin’s statement.
