LG B = Brightest, Thinnest Smartphone in the World?

We’ve just gotten some pictures and specs from our friends over at Phandroid. It looks like LG is cooking up a killer device, one that could even rival their newly-announced Optimus 2X. It’s called the LG B, and it’s impressive, to say the least. We don’t have that much info to go on at the moment, but so far it’s enough to make me want more. It’s got a 4-inch IPS LCD screen, and it is bright. So bright that it puts an iPhone 4 and Samsung Galaxy S to shame when placed in between them, as seen in the picture below.

This is impressive, especially since Samsung touts the Galaxy S’s Super AMOLED screen as much as they can for being the brightest and most vibrant screen out there. Well, it’s not going to be the brightest for long.

Not only does the LG B have a bright screen, it’s also very thin. It’s seen above next to an iPhone 4, and below next to the Galaxy S. Apple won’t be able to call the iPhone 4 “the thinnest smartphone on the market” anymore.

So, recapping, the LG B has managed to outdo both the iPhone 4 and Galaxy S in their respective fields, and it’s not even in the production stage yet. Even better is that LG is reportedly still working on making the device even brighter and thinner, as well as some software improvements.  If this is what it looks like as a beta device, I can’t wait to see what the final version will bring to the table. Check out a screen spec sheet below to see how the B holds up against the iPhone 4 (the R column) and the Galaxy S (the S column). More on this as it develops.

Any word on the resolution? 960×640 would be nice.

This is as fake as it gets. Photoshop was most definitely used on that brightness comparison image: http://briefmobile.com/poor-photoshop-job-lg-b-picture-under-scrutiny

I think it’s funny that you threaten one article’s credibility with another article that says they aren’t sure. Then you use the term “most definitely”. Nice job believing anything.

Like the post says bellow in the link, why is the display a direct copy of Samsung Galaxy screen.

Also The Galaxy screen gets brighter, it’s not turned up to 100% brightness. The display is obviously brighter in this so called phone so why the need to show that, but keep the brightness on others down? Also Just because it’s brighter does not make it better then super Amoled. It may be brighter, but amoled still does the best and most
vibrant DIRECT color. It also lied in the power wattage specs if anyone
looked. It says that this so called B uses 0% power displaying black.
Only Amoled can do that cause only Amoled can display black. Lcd can
display really dark gray because of the backlighting, so it wold still consume a small amount of
power. And currently the Galaxy S2 is the thinnest smartphone around.

Bottom line, even if it’s true and it is the brightest because Lg did
show off that 700 nit brightness nova display, it’s still an lcd and it
is yes brighter, but not the most vibrant, direct or best viewable
screen. Just bright and it does display better whites and does not display. Super Amoled in a whole still outdoes every other screen technology out there big time. Better colors, contrasts, viewing angels, and in most cases battery consumption, and least amount of space needed.
AND RETINA IS NOT A DISPLAY! IT IS A RESOLUTION! APPLE AND IPHONE SUCK!
