LG Ally to See Froyo in February 2011
According to LG’s official forum, Verizon’s LG Ally handsets will see Android 2.2 in February 2011. After making its debut with Android 2.1 all the way back in May 2010, the handset maker later promised Android 2.2 would eventually come. So sit tight, because eventually is only weeks away! It’s worth pointing out that this doesn’t mean Flash is coming as part of the update. The forum points to hardware restrictions (processor speed) which may be what keeps the phone from seeing a true full web experience.
Yeah, we know a lot of you are looking forward to Gingerbread (2.3), but rest assured that LG is as well. We already know they’re promising it for their Optimus One line of phones, and it appears they are evaluating the same for the Ally. When asked about the latest version of Android, an LG rep replied with, “That’s my next quest…. Hope to have an answer soon.”
