PSA: EVO Shift 4G Pre-Sale Starts January 6 at Best Buy

Jonesing to get ahold of the EVO Shift 4G? Best Buy Mobile just announced their pre-sale will start on January 6 with just one catch: only Best Buy Reward Zone members will be able to take advantage of the early date.

If you’re not a member, you’ll be able to find the EVO Shift 4G online and at Best Buy stores three days later on January 9.

The HTC EVO Shift 4G, a Sprint exclusive 3G/4G Android device with slide out landscape keyboard and a 3.6″ screen, is the follow-up to the original HTC EVO 4G. The January 6 date lines up nicely with what we’ve been hearing since back in October, when it was code named either the HTC Knight and/or the HTC Speedy.

It’ll set you back $149 on contract. More details in Best Buy’s press release below.

Actually just thought I’d pass this along. I went to my local Best Buy and pre-ordered the EVO Shift for my father this evening (the 5th) and will be picking up the phone TOMORROW on the 6th! Now that is of course if you are a Rewards Member. Call your local best buy to see if they are running the same option. If your not a Rewards member just go sign up first get your card then go to the mobile section and pre-order.

For some reason after paying $50 for the pre-order we also got back a $50 giftcard to the store which my father is going to apply to his new Shift. So with no rebates of any kind and the giftcard he’s walking away with the new phone for $100 bucks.

Not bad. I’ll have a full review of the EVO Shift 4G on Techhog.com by the weekend for those interested. I’ll try to make it as indepth as my EVO 4G review.

    Take care!

Side note: Radio Shack is selling the Shift on the 6th as well.
