The device is solid and feels like a beast in your hands.  When compared to the Galaxy Tab, it is nearly identical in overall size and would be very portable. The Dell Stage UI plays well on this size screen and allows for a nice change from your stock Android experience.  For first time tablet users, this would be pretty intuitive.
