The guys over at Engadget have gotten wind of a Best Buy preorder page for the Moto Xoom. The page has since been removed, but for a short period of time, the preorder price for the Xoom was $1,199. Yeah, we said $1,199. Best Buy is known for overpricing things on preorders, but $1200? Seriously? I’m sure the Xoom will sell out as soon as it’s released, but is it worth over a grand just to be the first to get your hands on one? The preorder date was set to be Thursday, February 17th, but it’s unclear if that’s still the date, since Best Buy removed the page. Obviously, this is just a starting price, and will drop to the $800 price tag we’ve seen. Even so, it’s hard to imagine anyone paying $1200 just to get a Xoom on day one. More on this as it develops. Anyone else surprised that Best Buy racked up the preorder price on this one?
