PONG For Hope Starts Tomorrow!
You may have heard on the Android Guys Thursday Night Droid-Cast about a little event called “PONG For Hope“. Well, it’s not so little any more as many of the personalities from the Android Community are right now on their way to Warrensburg, MO to take part in the event!
The premise is simple. We start playing the classic Atari game, PONG, tomorrow February 18th, starting at noon. We will have several different cameras thanks to our partnership with Streamly.TV that will broadcast the players, the game and live shows during the event. We keep playing PONG as long as viewers keep donating. That’s it. If you want to torture us for a long period of time, you can go to the PONG for Hope website and donate any amount of money to the cause. All monies collected go to the American Heart Association.
Why are we doing this? Because we want the world to know the power of the Android Family, we want people to see that when we come together for one purpose, we can raise an insane amount of funds to help those in need. Heart disease and stroke are the number one and two killers in America respectively. Nearly everyone we know has been affected by heart disease in some way, either themselves or someone they love, we think it’s time to attack this issue and help raise awareness and funds to help.
The beauty of PONG for Hope is that you can donate anywhere from $1.00 to $1000 and help us be effective. Each hour that we have to play is going to have a price tag, when we hit the total for the current hour, we start collecting for the next. The beauty part is that you don’t have to wait to donate, you can go right now and start building up the hours that we have to play!
Look for more updates this coming weekend!
