Xperia Play Not Exclusive to Verizon
Uddenfeldt said that Sony Ericsson is excited about their new partnership with Verizon as part of a new focus by SE on the U.S. market, but that the Play is not exclusive to that Verizon, and could ultimately be available on multiple carriers’ networks.
In the interview with FierceWireless at MWC, Uddenfeldt also said that SE had learned from its previous Android devices how important it is to stay up-to-date with the latest version of Android, saying that “a year ago, the awareness of the importance of being on the latest Android release wasn’t in the company.” All their recently announced phones will launch with Gingerbread.
