Atrix 4G Rooted, Dumped Ahead of Launch
Been considering an Atrix 4G, but worried that it might be a while before it’s rooted? Well that worry is out the window: Moto’s new dual-core superphone has been rooted before it has even been officially released.
As is often the case, the good folks at XDA get credit for the hack, which will allow users to tether without an AT&T tethering plan, sideload apps, and remove bloatware. However, because the Atrix does have a signed (but not encrypted) bootloader, custom ROMs will not be possible, at least not right away.
Along with root comes a full system dump, including all the Atrix’s stock ringtones, wallpapers, and other goodies.
