Amazon App Store for Android Expected to Launch This Month

Up until now, the biggest “competitor” to the Android Market has been GetJar with its massive library of titles and exclusive launches.  Look for things to get real interesting, real fast as Amazon opens the doors to their Android app and game distribution model later this month.  A recent tweet by Millennial Media tells us that the store goes live later this month, referring developers to a post with additional details.

For all the great changes in the Android Market over the last few months, Amazon stands to come in and show them a thing or two about content discovery and recommendation.  This is a great move for Android as users will love this and developers will as well.
