Become a News DJ with Taptu

I know that you are reading the title of this post and thinking to yourself, “Not another news reader”.  This one may be worth taking a look at though, especially since the company behind it, as of today, have updated it to include some cool new features.

The reader is called “My Taptu”, and allows you to become a “News DJ” of sorts, giving you the ability to create a perfect mix of news and social media postings that caters to your own taste.  It reminds me of a faster “Pulse” RSS reader mixed with a twitter and facebook client.  The biggest difference between Pulse and Taptu is that they actually have a “streamstore”, where you can browse some different news and media outlets, giving the user some much needed ease of access.  I have been using it for a few hours and have been really happy with the performance of the app on my Vibrant.

Like most other news readers, it allows you to tie in Twitter and Facebook postings from your friends, but gives you some control over what you see, which it a must in the day of Farmville and other nonsense games that continuously spam your feeds.

You can download the app using our handy dandy box below!  Check it out.
