Poynt Hits 1 Billion Local Searches

Poynt Corporation, developer of the Poynt local search app, recently announced quite a milestone: users of the app have performed more than 1 billion queries and actions. These include searches within the app’s seven categories: Businesses, People, Movies, Events, Gas, Restaurants and Weather, as well as actions such as clicking to call, clicking to browse and mapping directions to a location.

All these queries are from a user base that recently passed 6.4 million unique users, growing by 30,000 new users a day in February.

You may remember Poynt from their interview in December on AGTN. The free app uses GPS to help users not only find local businesses, events, restaurants, movie theaters, gas prices and weather information,  but also take actions like buying movie tickets, getting directions, reading reviews and booking dining reservations.
