TapTap Revenge 4 Lands on Android with In-App Purchases

We expect to see a new crop of notable app releases now that Android apps can take advantage of in-app purchases.  One of the first bigger titles to utilize the new system is Tap Tap Revenge 4, which landed in the Market yesterday.  The free music game/app from Tapulous lets users play along with their favorite songs as they tap the screen and long press to the beat.  Think of Dance Dance Revolution for your phone and you get the idea.  The game features hundreds of songs, online challenges, global leaderboards, and real-time chatting with other players.

So how does one get away with all this cool stuff for free?  Simple – hook users with a few goodies and charge for the rest.  Tap Tap Revenge 4 uses the new in-app payment system within Android.  If you want to download the game, you’ll need an Android phone running 2.2 or higher with about 11MB space.  Naturally, you will need more space for additional content.
