Dell’s 10-Inch Android Tablet Due in June

Word today is that Dell is set to follow their Dell Streak 7 with a 10-inch version due in June.  According to sources familiar with the matter, Dell’s next tablet will debut in the next two months although its unclear if it will carry the Streak branding.  Initially pegged with an early 2012 release, the tablet is said to focus on a younger demographic than Dell’s Windows-based version.  The full hardware and specific build of Android are still a mystery but we’re begging for them not to rush it out without seriously considering Honeycomb.   Anyone feel like picking up a Dell tablet for school next year?

Cue the legions of Android fans claiming they’ll buy “on day one,” only to realize that their job at the Hat Shack won’t allow them to buy an overpriced Android tablet and eat during the same month.

    Flame away, suckers.

If Dell say June then read that as late 2011. How are Dell going to pull this out of the bag such that it competes with the specification of the Motorola and Samsung tablets in terms of hardware, aesthetics and price. I personally think it will over priced or very late or will be rushed and have corners cut (e.g. an earlier version than Honeycomb). Time will tell but for now I’m holding out for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (CTIA version).
