Tablet Tweaks in CyanogenMod 7

Do you have CM7 on your Tablet? Or do you just want some cool tweaks for your phone? In the final release of CyanogemMod 7 (version 7.0.0), there is a new section in the CM settings called “Tablet Tweaks”. In this new category there are three options,

  • Bottom Status Bar (places your status bar at the bottom of the screen)
  • Dead Zone (places a dead zone on the bottom half of your screen)
  • Disable Lockscreen (this disables your lockscreen and your unlock pattern/ password)

If you dont have the latest version of CyanogenMod 7, I highly recommend you go download it and check out our previous coverage of it. CM is a well-known and respected ROM, and it’s available for over two dozen Android devices. Check out the video below if you want to see the Tablet Tweaks in action!

Project Elite v4 ROM:Sleek,Stable & Fast

Last week I came across a great ROM for Motorola Droid 1 (a.k.a. “OG Droid”) tucked away in Droid Forums: Project Elite v4. Now, I usually flash the major ROM developers’ work (Cyanogen, Bugless Beast, Chevy and the others on ROM Manger) because of their history, and pass up the new guys because of fear of abundant force closes and buggy performance.

Well, I’m glad I took a chance on this one.

The Dead zone (“Add a dead zone of half screen width to the middle of the status bar”) adds an area of half the screen width to the middle of the status bar; dragging the status bar down (or up, as the case may be) does not work when the drag is initiated in this dead zone.
